The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are actually open and may close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the subsequent requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house using a combined gross residence earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic earnings isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to research in a 2025 nsfas application public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the nsfas 2025 processing of their application.
